1962 Topps Football Bucks
The 1962 Topps Football Bucks resembled U.S. currency and measured 1 1/4" x 4 1/4". But ... instead of Abe Lincoln staring at you, it could be Fran Tarkenton !!!
Drawings of the player's home parks along with brief write-ups appeared on the front. The backs included team and league logos. Printing was done with black and green ink on off-white (very thin) paper stock. Bucks are typically found with a fold crease in the middle as they were inserted in packs in that manner.

The 1962 Topps Bucks were inserts in wax packs of the 1962 Topps regular issue football cards. Player selection was super and the featured ROOKIES of Fran Tarkenton and Mike Ditka !!! Also numerous other Hall-of-Famers including JIM BROWN, BART STARR, Y.A. Tittle, Johnny Unitas, Lou Groza and other greats !!!

The top rookie was Hall-of-Famer and Red Sox great Carl Yastrzemski. Other rookies included Hall-of-Famer Jim Kaat. Check him out on Wiki and you'll see why he gets my vote as the greatest golfer of all-time. The there was that Giants Hall-of-Famer Willie McCovey and then that GIANT of a man, Frank Howard. SUch a great crop that future .363 hitting Batting Champ Tommy Davis barely makes this list.

1957 was the beginning of the modern era of baseball cards and their to this day standard size of 2-1/2" x 3-1/2". Many collectors consider the 1957 set the most attractive of the 1950's sets. Of note is a fun error card picturing Hank Aaron batting left-handed. The error was never corrected so there is no extra value.
The set included some very neat multi-player cards and was PACKED with ROOKIES !!!
