The first think you notice about Topps 1975 baseball cards is their very colorful and thinck borders, many say TOO colorful, TOO thick. Anyway, this set doesn't show up on too many best designed baseball card lists.

But what it lacked in design, it made up in other ways. First was the AWESOME ROOKIE cards for Hall-of-Famers George Brett, Robin Yount, Jim Rice, Fred Lynn and Gary Carter.

Then there was the SUPER POPULAR MVP subset. One of my favorite Topps subsets, there were now many great cards picturing players like Mickey Mantle & Willie Mays.

It didn't stop there. There were several Record Breaker cards featuring greats like Hank Aaron & Nolan Ryan. Plus the always loved League Leaders cards and even more .

AND THE BEST PART --- 1975 Topps Minis !!! Yes, a whole new set, exactly the same, but a slightly smaller size !!!

1972 NFLPA Football Vinyl Stickers


1960 Fleer Baseball Box 1972 NFLPA Football Vinyl Stickers were irregularly shaped caricature type stickers, measuring 4 3/4" by 2 3/4". Originally distributed via vending machines, there were 20 different stickers to a set.
The unnumbered stickers show a photo of a player's head atop a caricaturized version of his body. There are reverse negative variations of Joe Namath and Dick Butkus.

The 1959 Topps baseball card set continued Topps trend of more and more cards each year by adding nearly 100 cards to their 1958 issue bringing their largest set to date to 572 cards.

Baseball card collecting terms (part A)

Airbrushing is the art of touching up a photo prior to the card being printed. It was generally done to remove imperfections or update or hide a players jersey/cap logo. Because of advancements in print technology and computers this is no longer needed.

All-Star card (AS) usually a subset card picturing a player who participated in the previous season’s all-star game. Topps created these in their 1958 High Number issue and has continued the practice fairly regularly to date. Such cards are usually designated in price guides with the abbreviation of AS.

Assorted A general mix of cards often containing many duplicates.

Auction items are sold to the highest bidder. Auctions used to be live or thru the mail/phone but today most auctions are online.

Auction Catalog lists the rules and descriptions and often images of the items in an auction.

Authentication verification that an item (card, autograph) is genuine. Most "game-used" material inserts have a written declaration of authenticity on the reverse. Authorized Issue card or memorabilia item that has been properly licensed. If the item is of a player, his written permission must be given in order for it to be considered authorized.
