1956 Topps Football

After they acquired Bowman, Topps issued its first NFL licensed
football set issuing (120) brightly colored cards.
Team cards were a nice new addition to the earlier Bowman offerings.
Also issued was a checklist and (5) special contest cards.
Most of these special cards were either tossed away or sent in
to win prizes making them quite difficult to find.
Like its early 1950's baseball issues, these cards
measured in at 2-5/8" x 3-3/4", sligtly larger than the regular
modern issued cards.
Each team had (9) player cards and the team card.
To make the number of cards work with the card-sheet size,
Topps printed all the cards twice on each sheet, EXCEPT the
Washington Redskins and Chicago Cardinals who were short
printed (single printed)and are more difficult to find.
Top Rookies: Lenny Moore, Roosevelt Brown, Joe Schmidt, Bill George...

1984 O-Pee-Chee (OPC) Baseball Checklist & Values
The (2) top rookie cards that year were of players who never made
the Hall-of-Fame but they sure had impact. Both played in the
'Big Apple'. Darryl Strawberry with the Mets and Don Mattingly
across town with the Yankees.
Mattingly was the top firstbaseman nearly every year he played but
his career was cut short by injury.
Strawberry's played 17 years in which many he was a top star.
It's likely that other factors kept him out of the Hall.

Baseball, Football, Basketball & Hockey Memorabilia Cards
It's cool to have a card of your favorite player.
It's even cooler to have your favorite player's jersey or bat.
Well just think how cool it is to have a card of your favorite player
embedded with a piece of his bat or jersey that he used in a real major league game !!!
That's the concept that Upper Deck dazzled the hobby with in 1996. Ever since the
hobby has been in love with Game-Used memorabilia cards and they have become a
staple of sportscard collecting. Originally they were very scarce inserts with
less than 1 every few boxes. Now these insert cards are so popular that
many products include one in every pack.
Be sure you visit our Game-Used card section with nearly 1,000 available at
discount prices.
