Another Hit Topps Test Issue from the 1960's !!!
1962 Topps Bucks were one of Topps most creative Test Issues. Each 1-3/4" x 4-1/8" "Buck" resembled U.S. currency but instead of George Washington staring at you, it could be Mickey Mantle !!!

1962 Topps Bucks were sold in 1 cent wax packs and were NOT inserts in 1962 Topps wax packs. Most exist with a fold line witgh some unfolded proofs around. Set packed with Hall-of-Famers featuring MICKEY MANTLE, Willie Mays, Sandy Koufax, Roberto Clemente, Carl Yastrzemski, Stan Musial, Hank Aaron & more !!!

Chemtoy & MLB teamed up to offer a set of major league baseball player "Superballs" or "High Bouncing Balls". One of the more interesting collectibles from late 1960's, early 1970's and sought after by Team & Player collectors.

1970 Chemtoy Baseball SuperBalls The 285 player set with 12 per team except Twins, White Sox and A's with 11. Each "Superball" has the player's photo inside with name, team, position and Chemtoy inventory number on back.

The top rookie was Hall-of-Famer and Red Sox great Carl Yastrzemski. Other rookies included Hall-of-Famer Jim Kaat. Check him out on Wiki and you'll see why he gets my vote as the greatest golfer of all-time. The there was that Giants Hall-of-Famer Willie McCovey and then that GIANT of a man, Frank Howard. SUch a great crop that future .363 hitting Batting Champ Tommy Davis barely makes this list.

Are sports cards valuable ?

Like all collectibles, over time some sports cards go down in value, others go up and some can even become very valuable. Card values are based on many factors: player popularity, scarcity, condition & collector interest. A card can be scarce but without demand value may not be great.

Q: What are some ways to collect cards ? * Complete sets by year & issue
* Cards of your favorite player
* Cards of your favorite team "TEAM SETS"
* Rookie cards
* Hall-of-Famer cards
* I even had a girlfriend that collected Don Mossi (checkout his ears), players whose last name start with "Z", and the Brett brothers George & Ken (she had a crush on George).
* "TYPE COLLECTING" (everyone should at least do a little of this !)

"Type Collecting"
is collecting at least one of each different "type" of issue. On scarcer issues you can add a less expensive common while on others you can select your favorite player or team.
